Not sure if this fits in here, but here goes.
Flack Tax stood silently amongst the ruined buildings that had once been one of the Major Capitals of the old world. Though the name of the city had long been lost to time, The grizzled man couldn't help but feel a slight depression when he thought of what had happened here. The death... The destruction... The infection... Flack shook his head. Now wasn't the time to remember his history lessons. All that happened hundreds of years ago. And yet, when he stood amidst ruined buildings, it suddenly felt so present.
Flack grunted. He had lingered too long. Raising his PLASMA-TECH PIAS, he continued along the broken streets. Flack's goal was a giant tree in the middle of the city. The tree was black and rotting, and red crystals grew from it's bark. Red lights circled the tree. "Light Carriers" he thought, shaking his head. Who did they think he was?
Flack aimed his PIAS at the lights and pulled the trigger. A blue ball of plasma exploded towards the red light. Noticing the noise, the lights buzzed closer. The Light carriers expertly dodged the plasma, hissing at the little human. Flack grinned. Light Carriers were always cocky. The marine watched as the plasma ball changed direction in mid air and headed right towards the nearest Light Carrier. Right before hitting it's mark, the blue orb explodes, sending hundreds of sub-molecular missiles soaring in all direction. Designed not to hit marines, the missiles instead targeted the Light Carriers and released their burning plasma into the avian bodies, cremating them instantly. Dry bones and red crystals tumbled to the ground.
Raising his AMOT, Flack released a blast of highly concentrated oxygen at the crystals, shattering them. The soldier looked at his wristwatch. "Fuck..."
Tera was going to be pissed.
