Just a short story I decided to write.
Evalslrakdlort was ecstatic. Finally, after so many years, he had learned it's location. Soon he would have his re...
Evalslrakdlort felt a sharp pain in his backside as he was thrown through the air. His vision blurred, his butt stung, and he hit cold stone floor head-first. With a splitting headache, Evalslrakdlort stood up and faced his master.
The tall wizard looked at his servant with disgust. His right boot was scoffed. Evalslrakdlort flinched. The master didn't like it when his stuff was damaged. "Evalslrakdlort" the wizard said. "You disappoint me. I made it very clear you were to return momentarily."
"I am sorry master" Evalslrakdlort injected. "But I -"
"I am not interested in your fanciful excuses. You imps are here to serve me, thus you will obey my commands to the letter. Are we clear?" "Yes, master" Evalslrakdlort dutifully said, then added "And I'll kill you at the first opportunity."
The wizard turned away from the imp at his feet. "See to it that your task is completed, and do so without hesitation." As the wizard departed, Evalslrakdlort glared at his back. Soon, he thought. Soon.
Evalslrakdlort concentrated. He felt his essence stir as he focused on his destination. A cloud of sulphur surrounded him and...
The little imp was now standing in his master bed chambers. Scurrying along on his little feet, Evalslrakdlort ran across the floor an climbed straight up a wall. Focusing on a painting, he channeled his burning rage into it, starting a fire. His master had no doubt sensed the magic going off, and would return to investigate, but it was a risk worth taking.
Evalslrakdlort scrambled towards the flames. When he drew near, he raised his fist and slammed it into the burning fabric, creating a small hole. Soon, the rest of the painting fell away, and Evalslrakdlort peered into the revealed container.
Reaching in, Evalslrakdlort grabbed a small stone statuette. Elegantly carved, the statuette resembled a human with goat legs, hawk wings, and a bull head. A resemblance of the spirit trapped within, no doubt.
The door swung open, Evalslrakdlort hurled the statuette, the wizard started mouthing a spell, and the statuette hissed in triumph.
The statuette shattered against the floor, and the wizards voice suddenly fell silent. Evalslrakdlort giggled frantically as the statuette emanated a red mist.
Slowly, the mist took shape, forming into the likeness of the statuette. The wizard shrieked as the Newly freed demoniac reared it's head, and Evalslrakdlort could only laugh as his master's pitiful cries for help were silenced...
