I'd like it to be known, please only attempt this if you have a lot of time on your hands, and you're going to go through with it in it's entirety. Basically, I'm going to present a list of songs for you all to d/l and/or listen to, and then you come here and vote for which one you think it the greatest song of the them all. I suppose you could call it a song battle, I'll give you some information about the chosen songs here, hope you enjoy them...
(Note: if you can't be f**ked downloading, then most of these can be listened to on Youtube just by typing in the song and artist names...)
Cemetary Gates - Pantera
On the album that introduced a thrashy Pantera to the world in 1990, there was an incredible power ballad about death that showcased Dimebag Darrell's innovative guitar solos and Phil Anselmo's wide vocal range. Hailed by many as one of the greatest thrash songs ever...
Closer - Nine Inch Nails
Arguably the groups most well-known song, this dissonant wonder lets you hear exactly what Trent Reznor wants to do to you.
Creep - Radiohead
An alternative anthem for many, this was one of the first singles that pushed Radiohead to the top as one of the premier alt-rock groups of the 90's
Morning Glory - Oasis
Everybody knows Wonderwall, but on the same album there was a song that showcased Oasis's heavy side, and that is Morning Glory.
Basket Case - Green Day
This band helped make pop-punk a worldwide hit with this single from their breakthrough album; Dookie.
The Seed 2.0 - The Roots
Few hip-hop artists can call their groups 'bands'. But The Roots can, because they write all of their songs using real guitars, drums and keyboards. The Seed is one of their most well-known songs.
Superstition - Stevie Wonder
In my opinion, it's hard to hate Stevie Wonder. He's been blind since birth, but still writes all of his songs. And once you hear the opening drum pattern, played by Wonder himself, it's hard not to dance to this.
Prison Sex - Tool
Tool are complex, and this is one powerful song. Listen to it and you'll know what I mean...
