When roleplaying, there are some rules you need to follow accordingly so that it is a fair and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Basic RP Rules
1. For identity reasons, you may only create one character for each roleplaying genre (one for Fantasy, Sci-Fi, & Real-Life). However, if you'd like to start over with a new character, PM one of the staff members to let us know. Be aware, however, that you will no longer be able to RP with your previous character afterward.
2. No GOD-MODDING. This means no saying things like "Tom punched James in the face and sent him sprawling across the floor." No, you cannot do that. You can only execute actions against another character; the outcome is up to the receiver to decide. But don't always dodge attacks and such, because that's both unfair and unrealistic.
3. All of your posts must be of at least two or more sentences, and try to put as much detail into them as possible. So instead of saying something like, "Tom dodged the punch, then elbowed James in the face", the appropriate structure would be "Seeing the punch coming, Tom quickly reacted by shifting his body to the left and swiftly avoiding the punch. He then turned and thrust his elbow towards James' face."
4. You may not be in more than one location (thread) at once. For example, if you're in the Fantasy RP's "Wilderness", you can't also be in the Fantasy RP's "Deserts" at the same time. In order to leave an area, you must mention your character doing so in that thread. Then, you may move on to another one. An exception to being in two places at once is if they're in different RP worlds.
5. You cannot kill another person's character unless they accept, and say so in their reply. An example would be "Tom placed the gun to James' head and pulled the trigger". Then, James would reply with something like, "The last thing James heard was a loud bang before everything went dark and blood exploded through the back of his head, his body collapsing
6. Your character is not invincible. Which means, if you allow something that could fatally wound them happen to them, then they will die. This coincides with rule 5, in which you accept your character's death and allow them to die. Semi- fatal wounds, however, like a gunshot to the stomach, leg, arm, etc. would only result in either unconsciousness or immobility, or the inability to use that particular limb that was injured to it's full potential.
7. Be reasonable and make the fights interesting. Don't try to overpower one another with insane attacks or stuff like that. All RP characters are considered equal in ability and should be recognized as such, unless the character creators themselves decide to give their character disabilities, which is acceptable.
That is all for now. More to come, possibly.
