Having not been a big fan of the Elder Scrolls series previously, I guess I was a little apprehensive about playing Oblivion. But after playing it on my computer for a while I was amazed at the sheer size of the game, and I can't wait to explore some of the outlying islands to see what I can find. It runs a bit choppy on my PC, but I've had next to no trouble so I'm happy. Anybody else a bit of a fan?

I got it for PS3 last Christmas. I'd never played many open world games like this before except the GTA series, so it took some getting used to. It's kind of clunky, and traveling from one location to another is slow as hell, even on horse. (I was hoping it'd have a horseriding mechanic similar to Assassin's Creed, which, btw, is another awesome game that's available on PC too aside from the next gen consoles) I guess having such a huge free-roam open world makes up for it, but there isn't much to do besides quests and killing wild animals, lol. Or maybe I just haven't given the game enough time. I think I might play it again in a bit, in fact. Any tips you can give me, since you're experienced with these kind of games?

Just traveling to all four corners of the game world will fix that problem. Although I guess if there's not much around to begin with it might be a bit pointless. I'm inquisitive, so I'll take a look around and see what I can find. Surely there's ruins and things to explore?

Yeah there are ruins and caves, stuff like that that I run into, but the enemies are usually the same so it gets kind of boring. There's no big monsters you can fight or anything...or maybe at least not yet.

Wow, imagine playing hide and seek across the whole realm with another person...that would be just cool.

Yeah it would, too bad there's no multiplayer without having to go online...

Yeah but still, I mean you need a huge computer to play the game anyway so adding an internet connection to it too would just suck.

DUDE I was playing the other night and I ran into a UNICORN. I accidentally attacked it because I was fighting an enemy at the time and it got in the way, so it started chasing after me. I eventually decided to try and kill it because it was becoming a nuisance, but "Your weapons have no effect" popped up. I was like "WTF this thing is invincible?!" So soon I entered a town and when I exited it had it's back turned, still waiting there for me. I sneaked up on it and managed to ride it... To anyone who might know, are these things completely invulnerable or is there a way to hurt them? Not that I'd actually want to, I'm just curious... and also a noob.

Ok I'm super-pissed. I've gone through the Oblivion gate at Kvatch right, and now I'm in this alternate reality I suppose you could call it. I'm in the Blood Feast halls or whatever they're called, and I keep dying...it's lame. I stopped playing out of spite, but give me a couple of hours and I'll be playing again.
